Tekken X Street Fighter
While Street Fighter X Tekken is already out, Tekken X Street fighter is still in the making. A few years after its first announcement and we still have not heard anything about it. People has been wondering on how this game will work out, or if it will actually work at all mainly because TXSF (Tekken X Street Fighter) is going to be in a Tekken format, A strategical 3d fighting game. Tekken is known for its tactical approach and it is not fast paced like Street Fighter, unlike its counter-part SFXT (Street Fighter X Tekken) that is a 2D fast paced fighting game, characters from different 2d or 3d fighting games can be easily tweaked to Street Fighter format as shown in SFXT
How can this work?
Imagine, Ryu vs. Jin in a Tekken format then Ryu shoots Haduken towards Jin, How can Jin evade Ryu’s Haduken? Jumping is not an option since Tekken characters doesn’t jump as high as Street Fighter Characters do, Blocking it would be impossible as almost every projectile in Tekken is considered un-blockable, Side stepping would be the only option and even that is risky. There are a lot of questions like this in people’s mind about this game. Surprisingly enough, TXSF has already finalized its character rosters, According to Katsuhiro Harada
“It might seem like we haven’t started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago”. “I can’t really say how we’re aiming to surprise fans right now, but we have been playing around with many ideas”
It seems like TXSF would not be coming out soon, no reveals and details were disclosed about this project not to mention that Tekken 7 has just been released and is still being developed and updated at the same time, so Harada and the team is very busy with a lot of things, oh and by the way, they are also working on Pokken Tournament a Pokemon fighting game that is also based on Tekken.
Worth The Wait
Anticipating fans almost forgot about this project, years after its announcement and not even one clue on how this game would look like or at least a concept reveal to the public. Knowing how Katsuhiro Harada and his team works, fans are expecting that Tekken X Street Fighter will be worth it in the end in spite of the long wait. Harada mentioned before that TXSF is a long term project and it looks like the team is working on this game really carefully considering that Tekken is too complex for a crossover. Since Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V are already in production, Harada believes that fans of each games are busy preparing and learning the new games. Releasing Tekken X Street Fighter now would be a bad idea since the interest of the fans are now focused on Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V. As of this time, Harada did not give any names of characters appearing in Tekken X Street Fighter.
